Patriots Coach and NFL Insider Under Fire - Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini Break Silence on Sedona Vacation Photos
Viral vacation photos showing Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini spending time together at a luxury Arizona resort have ignited intense online speculation especially because both are married. Now, both the New England Patriots head coach and the prominent NFL insider are speaking out to address the controversy and set the record straight.
The photos, reportedly taken at the upscale Ambiente resort in Sedona, Arizona, show the pair holding hands, hugging, relaxing by the pool, and even appearing to dance together during sunset on a private rooftop terrace. The images quickly spread across social media and entertainment outlets, prompting rumors of a possible romantic relationship between the two.
According to eyewitness accounts cited in early reports, Vrabel and Russini were seen having breakfast together on the patio before later spending time poolside and in a hot tub. Additional images captured the pair standing close together with their fingers interlocked while enjoying the scenic rooftop views of Sedona’s famous red rock formations.
However, both Vrabel and Russini strongly denied any wrongdoing or inappropriate behavior.
“These photos show a completely innocent interaction and any suggestion otherwise is laughable,” Vrabel said in a statement responding to the speculation. He added that the situation “doesn’t deserve any further response.”
Russini echoed his remarks, explaining that the photos did not tell the full story of the trip.
“The photos don’t represent the group of six people who were hanging out during the day,” she said. “Like most journalists in the NFL, reporters interact with sources away from stadiums and other venues.”
Their responses came after several witnesses reportedly claimed they did not see others with the pair at certain moments during the outing, which helped fuel the speculation online. Still, sources close to both individuals insist they were traveling with friends and that others simply were not captured in the published images.
The situation has drawn even more attention because both Vrabel and Russini have long-standing marriages and families. Vrabel has been married to his wife Jen since their college days at Ohio State University, and the couple share two sons. Russini, meanwhile, married Shake Shack executive Kevin Goldschmidt in 2020, and they have two children together.
Adding another layer to the story, Russini’s employer, The Athletic, publicly defended her professionalism amid the growing rumors. Executive editor Steven Ginsberg described the photos as “misleading” and lacking important context, emphasizing that the interactions took place in public settings.
While the images sparked widespread debate among fans and observers across social media, neither Vrabel nor Russini has indicated they plan to comment further on the situation. For now, both remain firm that the outing was innocent and misinterpreted, though the viral photos continue to keep the story trending across the sports world.
